Lithium Orotate is formed by the reaction of orotic acid with lithium. Since Orotic acid is an organic substance that occurs naturally in our cells, the reacted orotate form used in Bio-Design's Lithium Orotate allows for optimum absorption and bioavailability.
The renowned German physician, Dr. Hans Nieper pioneered mineral orotate research. Orotic Acid was historically considered to be vitamin B-13.
