The FDA has updated the units for vitamin D: 1 microgram (mcg) of vitamin D equals 40 IU.
NOTICE: With the release of the new rules for Nutrition Facts Labels, some of the nutrient measurement units have been revised, including those for this product.
Vitamin D was a nutrient shown on the label in IUs, but is now listed in micrograms (mcg).
- Unit conversion: 1 mcg = 40 IU
So, to find the number of mcg, you need to divide your total number of IUs by 40. In the case of this product, it would be 5000 IU divided by 40 which yields 125mcg.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 softGel capsule daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
